How did I embark upon this journey?
The typewriter behind it all!
I found my 1940s Imperial Good Companion on Facebook Marketplace for £10. It had belonged to an elderly gentleman's father, and he remembered watching his dad type on it when he was a little boy. He was getting rid of it due to lack of space. It was rusty, tired and in need of some deep restoration work. My heart wasn't letting go of it, and so I decided to restore it myself, with no knowledge about how to restore these beautiful machines. With the help of a lot of restoration videos, advice from typewriter enthusiasts, and specialist repair work by a renowned engineer, I managed to get her into full working condition! That's right! Available during the drinks reception or between the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations, with a poem for the happy couple included. South Yorkshire travel included; further travel quoted on enquiry.
